But how can you claim to be a Christian and post something like this? I think our God would be very offended at your comment. If this needs pointed out again, You are being VERY ignorant. There's a right and a wrong way to spread faith. and for your information, it's not by criticizing the beliefs and practices of another religion. This is also slightly pathetic. You're trying to support belief in God by attacking an ANCIENT religion. The Egyptians weren't evil, and they were not high. As someone already mentioned, the Egyptians believed what they did because they didn't fully understand science, and they needed an explanation for things. Who are you to say something suggesting that, because ancient people were incorrect, that automatically makes us Christians CORRECT? Everyone, Christian, pagan, Atheist, Buddhist, whatever, should be offended by this article. No matter what God you believe in, he/she would not want you to MOCK and show pure DISRESPECT for another religions beliefs. In my humble opinion, the Egyptians should be respected for their beliefs. They had no evidence of anything, really, so they determined reason for it. It's brilliant. Whether they were right or wrong is of no matter. They believed what they did, you believe what you do, and you shouldn't act so condescending. Did you have some kind of divine revelation, telling you that every single thing you believe is absolutely 100% right, and therefore, you need to disrespect other faiths? don't answer that, I know God wouldn't reveal ANYTHING to a fool like you.

If you're going to write a article on how "crazy" ...

If you're going to write a article on how "crazy" or "stupid" something is, at least do some research and come up with logical reasoning behind this. To start, non-belief in god and worshipping 'idiotic' gods like Seth, Anubis and so on sends us straight to the fiery underworld, right? Who rules there? God's opposite, Lucifer. Granted not considered a god but a fallen angel turned Bonnie & Clyde styles on everyones butt, should be and what most 'could' accept as being a god of the fallen and fire and brimstone and so on (if one believes in the concepts of heaven and hell anyway). Now you see, this is where the beliefs of the god's differ greatly. Cats were as pointed out, sacred. Cats were the keepers of the Egyptians underworld as guardians doing in comparison what St. Peter does. (I think, I'm horribly inept about Christianity as there are way to many uncertainties that even probable guessing is random chance... and if you say this is Christian bashing, guess what religion I've been bought up with? Yep the one with big ol' J... (jesus if you really can't understand me) anyway). They were sacred because of their position at the entrance of the souls journey point. The journey more importantly through the underworld atop a bier under a four pillar shrine on funerary boats commonly seen in hieroglyphs and paintings. Again sacred. Cats are only thought of as evil in this way because of the association with the underworld and their misunderstanding, nay incompentence of what idiots believe the Egyptian belief systems are. Their after-life was as every bit as sacred as your closed minded notion that there is only one heaven that jesus' all knowing pop inhabits and gives his 'beloved' children who among many are born again Christians who were once hardened criminals.
Just because someones values are not your beliefs, it does not give you the right to criticise against ones respect of their own god(s). I don't believe in Buddha but it doesn't mean I can't understand where its teachings are coming from and what they imply.
Also given todays standards maybe a name like Wadjit was really cool back in those days like I don't know say how Steve is cool today. (Sarcasm if you can't tell about the Steve part). Wadjit was not explicitly a goddess of pregnancy either. Being closed minded does not help broaden ones understanding of such things where subtlety and reading between the lines is required. Although you read between the lines with the bible so what the hay, lets continue. The Goddess was of childbirth and protector of children rather than that of pregnancy. There is a difference as putting a negative spin on pregnancy is quite easy giving todays Christian and other religious morals of no sex before marriage and anti-abortion campaigns. However she was not that much unlike the cats but on the other end of the scale welcoming the spirit life back into the physical world. Wadjit was one among many of goddess's of fertility, childbirth and the like who herself also later became protector of the royalties and kings. Interesting also you point out one of the oldest of Egyptians goddess's, no time for criticizing the later gods if you can break the chain at the start aye? I suppose if jesus was taken out of the equation what would we have then?

As the other comments kind of elaborate to, grow up and listen to others. And also as ali-g would say. RESPECT. AIIII! Thanks for listening to my ramblings. Keep open minds about other cultures even if you don't believe them. Peace.
