Should Atheism Be Illegal?

Saturday, January 26, 2008

I think that is a strong yes! People seem to think I'm some intolerant religious nut. I'm really not. I think in a perfect world we all just believe in what we want, but the world isn't perfect, we have children to raise. Children are being influenced and atheism is turning them to drugs, homosexuality and other Godless behavior. I think atheists just need to go back to France and they can live their sinful life there.

"I don't know that Atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God." - President George W. Bush

Punishment For Atheism
I have put much thought into the proper punishment for atheist behavior and I seem to come to the same conclusion. They should spend the same time in jail as a rapist or child molester. Atheists practice the same things on a child's mind and that's what they deserve.

Purity Tests
I think it is essential that the government randomly tests people to see if they're atheists. This should be a simple quiz asking about God and things like that. Some trick questions should be asked too. Here is an example, courteous of a comment on this site: "Can god create a stone so big that even he can't lift it?" The only answer to this question is that God would just move the universe around this stone. Simple, logical answer. Most atheists can't answer that. An atheist would answer it like, "the force needed to lift this stone is directly proportional to gravity, therefore God would make the stone in a gravity free area, allowing him to lift it". It's very easy to spot the false atheist theories of "science".

I think this will definitely help move America in a better direction. Our children will be able to grow up straight and God loving.

I don't think you are JUST some intolerant religious nut, I think you are truly mentally challenged

Your ignorant comments will never cease to amaze and amuse me.

So do I.

Get help quick. Please. You will help people around you.

The sad thing is that I can't tell if you're serious or not.

you get that France is an extremely religious country...right? Oh, and that violating the Constitution by testing people's "purity" does not make you a patriot. It simply makes you intolerant of, well you know, everything.

Religion is a mental illness. I wish you well in your recovery.

You are like many people in the world. You think you know the book by reading the cover. Its called freedom of speech AND religion. Learn it.

Please... tell me this is a joke, a sick twisted joke. What does FRANCE have to do with Atheists? And guess what, it's not Atheism that makes kids do drugs, it's lack of education, or improper parenting, you can't blame something like that on Atheism, that's like me deciding to blame every stupid person in existence on Christianity (Not that that's a long shot). In the end, if I go to jail for being Atheist, you should go to jail for being a discriminatory [Insert Choice Explicit Word Here].

I agree with him. You are retarded.

"I think atheists just need to go back to France and they can live their sinful life there."

First off, atheism didn't even start in France. There's been traced writings of atheism tracing back to ancient Greece, and oldest documented case was in India 600BC, before the founding of France.

These are religious people, who's done drugs, and or hired prostitutes in the past. Jim Bakker, George W. Bush (Cocaine), Larry Craig, Newt Gingrich, Ted Haggard, Jimmy Swaggart, Rush Limbaugh, etc... the list is endless. As you can see being religious or even coming from a religious background does not make your more moral. What's about Carl Rove? He's been on the conservative side for a while, yet hides the fact that he's agnostic.

As for the picture, what's wrong with dressing up as the Colonel? He made some really good chicken.

"The only answer to this question is that God would just move the universe around this stone. "
No, that's not the only answer. God could always destroy the stone and recreate it at the place he wanted the stone to be at.

Also your gravity explanation just makes no sense. No right minded scientist would use that logic to explain how the Earth can be moved since a stone that large would exert it's own mass. It's the same reason why a nuclear explosion does not exert enough force to move the Earth. A better answer from an Atheist would be, "If God existed, he would increase his mass exponentially so his force would be greater than that of the force from the stone exerted against him"

All this ignorant post from you just brings up one clear issue. You're not using God's gift properly. He gave us a brain so we could use it for the better, you clearly aren't using it at all.

Reading some of these comments is a real joy. Please, people, count to ten, relax, read this blog again, and ask yourself if you still find it impossible that Conservatipedia might be just a little bit tongue-in-cheek...

Is this a joke?

Booshy said...

I am an Atheist, and for me, whether this is meant as tongue in cheek or not is a non issue. It may well be meant in that way, but it states that Atheists can be compared to rapists and child molestors and this is in itself an extremely offensive comment.

It would seem that we are an easy target. There are vulnerable people who would come across this and become rather distressed.

I would suggest you havnt thought of people who have been abused, you havnt thought about the feelings of people with all sorts of issues, and you certainly havnt thought about the feelings of those you lampoon.

This is simply distasteful and ignorant. Whether this is irony or not does not matter, the fact that these views have been stated so black and whitely is an afront to people who are openminded, whether religious or not.

Have you ever heard of that thing called separation of church and state? From the First Amendmend of the United States Constitution "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . . ." so your suggestion is not only xenophobic, hateful and ignorant but also unconstitutional.

Oh also I love how you needed 21 days to think of this ridiculous answer to the question asked here.

"Oh also I love how you needed 21 days to think of this ridiculous answer to the question asked here."

Actually the comment was made 4 days ago. I usually have a queue of posts lined up, so I answered it the next day. Thanks for playing. You've really shown the degree of your liberal retardation.

Just try to arrest me for being rational - I'll kick you square in the nuts.

This is actually a joke isn't it? I'm glad somebody stumbled this under the Atheist tag so I could find it. The right wing never ceases to amuse, astound and infuriate me. Keep up the good ignorance you fuckwitt.

You are an idiot, and should be buried alive said...

Read the 1st Amendment of the CONSTITUTION. You are too fucking biased to even exist in this country.

We are allowed which-ever religion or lack thereof in that amendment.

Because of this amendment, Bush should not have said that atheist comment; I also coubt that he did.

Adam said...

All this will do, is create more hatred toward Christian bothers and sisters. You have to win hearts and minds. Not force, God gave us free will for a reason.

guys, you must be americans because this is clearly satire, oh and the person who said it's evil even if it is satire, do you just not understand the concept of free speech, or do you just think it is a bad idea? really you should learn to just laugh at people who say things like this

Well, seeing as how I'm an atheist, I can honestly say that I love to do nothing more than rape and pillage the minds of the youth. In fact, I consider it somewhat of a pass time. After all, if I wasn't infesting your children's brains with my rhetoric, you'd have no one to blame things on. Without the scapegoat--sacrificial lamb--how can purity and Christian righteousness prevail? So may the blaming persist!

In all serious, I don't think too highly of this reverence for the youth or "our children" as you so lovingly put it. I think our species should simply abstain from procreating at all because our feeble monkey brains obviously can't handle living in a Godless world.

I hope someone beats you up, and you have to be cared for by a gay atheist doctor who just had a sexchange.

O RLY?

I get the joke...but...are you trying to sabotage Mel Gibson?

I smoked your son out on some fire bud.

Yeah. Atheism definitely should be illegal. People who think for themselves destroy the peace and tranquility that would otherwise exist in the world.

Folks should just accept what they're told by obviously decent chaps who wear silly clothes to demonstrate their humility.

I think I should hand myself in to the police right now, better still: This is a citizen's arrest! OUCH! Get your hands off yourself.....

When I first read the title of this article I thought you were on the right track. However, the punishment you advocate for atheists is clearly lacking. About the same time as a rapist or child molester? The doctrine preached by atheists leads to nothing but the destruction of the eternal soul, a crime which any pious and compassionate Christina would agree is worse than murder. For this, the only rational penalty for atheism is the death penalty, accompanied by damnation to hell by a presiding minister.

Your failure to recognize the truth of this shows that you are clearly just a tool of the liberal media. You clearly do not respect the religious freedom of the honest Christian man to raise his children in a country free of immoral atheists - you should take a long look in the mirror.

That quote was said by George H. W. Bush, not Dubya.

"Children are being influenced and atheism is turning them to drugs, homosexuality and other Godless behavior." this website so shit. i would love to see the police enforce this. lol.

Holy crap, this is the funniest thing I've ever seen. It is DEFINITELY a joke. Or perhaps we should refer to Poe's law? (Wikipedia it)

What I really don't understand is your inability to leave the rest of us to live our lives in peace. If our beliefs get us thrown in hell, then it's no skin off your nose is it?

I hope you realize that you are actually talking about real people who have the same feelings, just not the same beliefs that you do. If you of George H. W. Bush said the same things about most other groups (like Jews, African Americans, or anyone) you would be up the creek without a paddle in terms of the response. Everyone would castrate you (figuratively).

American laws and policy are supposed to be based on the Constitution which explicitly says that there is to be not only separation of church and state, but in the Bill of Rights gives Americans freedom of religion (which also implies the freedom to be non-religious).

What you really need to support is a program that will teach children morals for the sake of being caring human beings, not just because they think they'll be rewarded in the afterlife. Kindness is its own reward, regardless of your religious views.

There is no hope for you. You are incurably ignorant. One thing about self righteous, religious bigots; they are consistently hypocrites. I understand this is the only way you can temporarily feel better about yourself.

It appears no one seems to understand satire here. I would recommend the majority of users here to buy farms and become peasants as they clearly possess no intellect.

well first of all u just qouted bush like he actually knows what hes talking about that alone tell me me u arent very intellegent and on another note the only reason i belive in god is because i see the universe like this theres planets solar systems and living beings something made it and rather that thing be a explosion a entity or watever thats what i see as god the thing that started it all for all i know god very may have well been a big explosion and if that did start every thing thats what i would see as god the creator or even the creation itself

I'm fairly certain that picture was stolen from landoverbaptist.org (or vise versa)

I just love the comment that asks about separation of church and state and then goes on to correctly quote the first amendment, which says nothing about separation church and state

If God chose not to force those He had created to believe in Him, who are humans to try?

Guys, have you considered that the intent of this article may have been satirical rather than absolutely sincere? I mean, maybe I'm reading in too deeply, but the tone seems hardly to be that of a genuine policy proposal.

You know what? Im a atheist. I live in the United States. First of all that is going against the right of speech and religion! Secondly i don't do drugs or violent acts, I do good things for the community. Sure I bet there are violent and drug addicted atheists, but there are violent and drug addicted christians/ other religions too! Can't we all just be at peace and respect other peoples religions?!?!
